Junior Nattarita (Rita) Singhamongkolkhet is a foreign exchange student from Thailand who has been here since September and will depart from Chanhassen in June

“My language is Thai but the English is popular in Thailand too,” Rita said.  When she first came here, she was just learning English. But as the year has progressed, her English has improved with it.

Rita’s equivalent of high school in Thailand is much bigger than ours . “In Thailand, I’m in a secondary school that has 4,000 students in there because they have a six year school,” Rita said.

Rita described her country’s political system and some differences between Thailand and the United States. “In my country we have a king and president,” Rita said, “The king is a wonderful guy.”
