On a team of seventeen and eighteen year olds a fourteen year old girl is proving that hard work can pay off. Lauren Roberts (9) is a student at Chanhassen High School with a promising future in soccer. She has been playing soccer for 10 years.

“I started playing soccer when I was 4 because I wanted to be like my mom because she played soccer so I thought it would be cool to play soccer just like her,” Roberts said.

This past season she was on the Chanhassen Girls Varsity Soccer Team where they have had their best season yet.

“It was pretty cool because I was the only freshman and I got a lot of crap for that but it was still fun because I like to play soccer and I like all the people that I play with” Roberts said.

Roberts said she aspires to play soccer for The University of Minnesota or The University of Virginia and someday make it on the national women’s soccer team and go to the World Cup.
